The winner of RIBA Stirling Prize 2008 it's the "Accordia" by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, Alison Brooks Architects and Maccreanor Lavington.
According to the prize judges: ""Accordia" is high density housing at its very best, demonstrating that volume house-builders can deliver high quality architecture – and that as a result they can improve their own bottom line."
The winner was announced at the RIBA Stirling Prize Dinner at the Arena and Convention Centre in Liverpool on 11 October.
The six shortlisted buildings for 2008 were:
- "Accordia", by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios/Alison Brooks Architects/Maccreanor Lavington
- "Bijlmer Station", by Grimshaw and Arcadis
- "Bijlmer Station", by Grimshaw and Arcadis
- "Manchester Civil Justice Centre", by Denton Corker Marshall
- "Nordpark Cable Railway", by Zaha Hadid and Patrik Schumacher
- "Royal Festival Hall", by Allies and Morrison
- "Westminster Academy", by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris
